Mr. Terry Michael Jackson, age 70, of Lexington, Indiana near Chelsea entered this life on July 2, 1941 in Jefferson County, Indiana. He was the tenth child of the late, Andrew & Freda Roberts Jackson. He resided all of his life in the Chelsea community. Terry played basketball for Saluda High School and in 1960 graduated in the first graduating class from Southwestern High School after the school merged. He was united in marriage on July 25, 1959 to Nancy Carol Potter at the St. John's United Church of Christ in downtown Madison. This happy union was blessed with one daughter, Cari and one son, David. He was a farmer all of his life and enjoyed raising cattle, corn, soybeans. Terry was a partner in the Jackson Brother's Farms with his brother, Snake and his wife, Lucy. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles and in his early years was a member of the Roadside Angels and later in life the Harley Owners Group (HOG). He had served as a Saluda Township Trustee for several years. Terry loved his animals, farming, riding motorcycles and being with his family. He enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Terry passed away tragically on Friday, March 2, 2012 with his beloved wife, Carol and his great grandson, Daylynn Terry Jackson from injuries sustained in the Tornado that struck their home.
Terry will be missed by his loving daughter: Cari Lynn Jackson of Lexington, Indiana; his loving son: David M. Jackson & his wife, Rebecca of Dillsboro, Indiana; his loving sister: Shirley A. Auxier of California; his brothers: Burlyn Jackson of Madison, Indiana, Ronald "Blackie" Jackson & his wife, Pauline of Greenwood, Indiana; his grandchildren: Amanda Jackson & her companion, Greg; Beau Jackson; Samantha Jackson & her fiancée, Mark Corbin; his great grandchildren: Ashlynn Elizabeth, Cortlynn Allison, Raylynn Joe, Hayden Anthony & Lukas David; his step grandchildren: Anthony & Wyatt Yelton; his step great granddaughter: Ava Yelton; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Freda Robert Jackson; his wife, Nancy Carol Potter Jackson died, March 2, 2012; his brothers, Lloyd Jackson, George Jackson, Millis "Snake" Jackson, Boyce "Pooge" Jackson; his sisters, Hildreth Cleffman, Roseann Bibbs; his great grandson, Daylynn Terry Jackson died, March 2, 2012.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Charlot Nash, at the North Madison Christian Church, 1400 East State Road 62 in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery near Chelsea, Indiana.
