MRS. JOYCELEE BUSSARD LEATHERMAN, 63, Myersville, died Saturday March 3, 2012, at the home of her sister in Middletown surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife Harold Eugene Leatherman.
Born in Middletown, January 30, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Harry L. and Anna Louise Delauter Bussard.
She was employed as a custodian with the Frederick County Public Schools and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown.
Surviving, besides her husband, are: one brother, Robert "Sam" Bussard, Middletown; three sisters, Marianna Keeney, Middletown; Jane Rith, Hagerstown; and Harriett Hahn, Mercersburg, PA; her father-in-law, Arthur Leatherman, Myersville; her brother-in-law, Gene Leatherman and wife Candy, Myersville
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers: Kenneth "Peck" Bussard and Ellwood Bussard; and sister Ruth Zier.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 6, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Rev. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be made in the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Myersville.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Regional Cancer Therapy Center, 501 W. Seventh St., Frederick, MD 21701 or to any children's charity.
