Charles Neal Adams, 88 of Kirbyville, Texas and formerly of Newton, Texas, died on Feb. 29, 2012 at Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
He was the oldest son of Carlton and Helen Adams and attended Newton High School. Charles graduated from Texas A&M University, served on active duty in the Army Signal Corps in the Pacific and In Japan during World War II. He was co-owner of a butane company in Newton. He began his oil-field career with Phillips Pipeline and then served as Chief Engineer for Permian Corporation in Midland and Houston, Texas. While living in west Texas he became a private pilot and flew his own plane back home to Newton.
He married Faye Ois Simmons in December 1948 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. After her death, he married Judy McLemore Adams. They would have celebrated 2 happy years of marriage in March 2012. For more than thirty years, he served as a Baptist Deacon and at the time of his death he was an active member of the Kirbyville Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Ois Adams, parents, Carlton and Helen Adams, brother, Clyde Ennis Adams and wife, Melba and sister, Nancy Adams Price and husband, Charlie.
He is survived by his wife, Judy McLemore Adams of Kirbyville, daughters, Sharon Johnson and husband, Jim of San Antonio and Cyndi Jacobson and husband, Keith of Houston, sons, Alan McLemore and wife Marianne of Beaumont, Toppy McLemore and wife, Jeanette of Kirbyville, Rev. Dr. Timothy McLemore of Dallas and Phillip Williams and wife, Mary of Orange, brother-in-law, M. W. "Red" Simmons of Pt, Neches grandchildren, Justin, Brittney, Melody, Evangeline, Luke, Victoria, Christian, Kevin, Brian, Gregory and Sabrina, Rose and Pierce, Charles and Crystal, Daniel and Jodi and Patrick and Whitney andother precious extended family.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Newton with burial to follow at the Newton City Cemetery.
