Clyde passed away on Wednesday at his home after a brave battle with cancer.

Clyde was born in Newton to Carlton and Helen Muriel (Lee) Adams.

He was a 1943 graduate of Newton High School. He had served in the Navy during WWII.

He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1949. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and throughout his life was active in numerous community and civic organizations. A respected businessman, he and his partner, Francis Duhon, were co-owners of Campbell Oil Company until they sold the business and retired in 2004.

Clyde was preceded in death by his wife of fifty three years, Melba Miller Adams, his parents, Carlton and Helen Adams, his sister, Nancy Price and his grandson Adam Lee Wills.

Survivors include his brother, Charles Adams and wife Faye, his children: Judy Walker and husband Jeff, Jana SnowdenSimmons, Tammy Marshall and husband Brad, daughter Terri Adams Wills Jones, daughter Cathy Marberry and husband Rick and son, Clyde Adams, Jr. and wife Tiffany, grandchildren: Jeffrey Walker, Jr., Carl Walker and wife Susan, Scott Walker and wife Jennifer, Laurie, Michael and Natalie Snowden, Ashley and Reid Wills, Zachary Marberry, Cason and Katelyn Marshall, Nicholas and Victoria Adams and great grandchildren: Caitlyn Proffitt and Shelby Walker. He was also survived by numerous beloved family members and dear friends including his special friend, Shirley Douglas.
