Hiram Burritt's parents were Reed and Dorothy (Jaquish) Burritt. They died in Burdette, Schuyler Co., New York, he on 26 Nov 1859 & Dorothy on 16 Sep 1849.

Hiram was the 3rd of 6 children born to Reed and Dorothy (Jaquish) Burritt.

Hiram was an early pioneer in Illinois. He married Julia Ann Ford on 31 Mar 1839 in Lake Co., Illinois. Julia Ann did not care for living in the wilds of Illinois or Wisconsin and moved back with parents.

These are from notes in my FTM file:
He located on extreme part of Cook Co. which became part of McHenry Co & then Lake Co. He made a claim for 160A 3 miles from Wauconda & resided there until 1840. He then returned to NY. Returned to Wisconsin & remained until 11/1855. During his time in Wisconsin he purchased 111A & built a house.
When he disposed of Wisconsin home he moved to Atlanta, Logan Co., IL where he purchased land & also engaged in the meat market business.
About 2yrs later(1857?) he traded farm for property abt. 4 mi south of the village of Tremont in Tazwell Co. He stayed there 2yrs (abt 1859) & returned to Lake Co, locating in Aug. of 1859 in Ela Twp purchasing a farm of 154 A. Sold this farm in 1865 after renting it out for a few years. He then bought a home in Wauconda 12/22/1862.
