The wedding of Miss Kennedy and Mr. McCudden will take place the latter part of the month. Miss Kennedy is the daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Kennedy of Locust avenue extension and is one of the most popular young ladies in the city. She was employed recently in the State Bank. Mr. McCudden was formerly of Fairmont but is now engaged in the coal business at Welch.

McCudden-Kennedy

The marriage of Francis B. McCudden of Welsh, W. Va., and Miss Rose Kennedy of this city was solemnized at 6 o'clock this morning at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father P. H. Gilsenan officiating. Nuptial mass was celebrated by Father Gilsenan in the presence of a few friends and relatives. Mrs. William A. Small played the wedding march, and during the ceremony Frank Jordan sang an "Ava Maria" and "Oh Lord, I Am Not Worthy".

The bride was attended by Miss Avalena Rush of Clarksburg as maid of honor, while her brother, James J. Kennedy, was the bridegroom's best man.

The bride was becomingly gowned in a handsome coat suit of blue duvetyn with grey caracul trimmings, with which she wore a grey hat and black colonial satin slippers with cut steel buckles. She wore a corsage of pink roses, sweet peas and valley lilies.

Her maid of honor was gowned in a coat suit of black satin with grey fur trimings [sic] and wore a corsage of roses and sweet peas.

Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party and immediate family at the home of the bride on Locust avenue extension, and after this they left for a wedding journey to points in the West, after which they will take up their residence at Welsh, W. Va.

Miss Kennedy is the daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Kennedy and the late Michael Kennedy and resided with her mother on Locust avenue extension. She is a graduate of the Fairmont State Normal School and is a young woman of charming personality.

Mr. McCudden is located at Welch, W. Va., where he is credit manager of the Central Pocahontas Coal Co. He was located here a number of years ago and is well known in this city. He is a son of Mrs. McCuddin [sic] of Weston.

MRS. ROSE MCCUDDEN DIES IN MICHIGAN

Mrs. Rose Kennedy McCudden, of Ann Arbor, Mich., died in a hospital in that city last night. She had been ill only a few days and her death came as a severe shock to her family.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kennedy, whose home place on Locust avenue extension is occupied by members of the family. The McCuddens have been residing in Ann Arbor a number of years.

Four brothers survive, D. P. Kennedy, Atty. W. M. Kennedy and James J. Kennedy, Fairmont, Edward P. Kennedy, now of State College, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Burke, wife of W. F. Burke of Pittsburgh. A sister, Miss Cecelia Kennedy, died a few years ago.

Besides her husband, there is one son, Justin, who is a student in the John Carroll college in Cleveland, Ohio.

The elder son, Bernard McCudden, lost his life overseas in World War II. Mrs. McCudden was an excellent woman with a devout Christian character. She had many relatives and friends here who will learn with deep regret of her death.

The funeral will be held in Ann Arbor, but plans are not completed. Several of the relatives from here plan to attend the services.
