Funeral services were held last Thursday from Collins Funeral home for Mrs. Rella E. Schoenenberger of Winterset, whose death had occurred at Memorial hospsital on Sept. 6, 1971.
The Rev.Newton Coughenour, pastor of the First United Methodist church of Winterset, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
Mrs. Schoenenberger was a life-long resident of Madison county. She was the former Rella Breeding, daughter of James W. and Fannie O'Dell Breeding, and was born here Dec. 15, 1889. She taught school for many years, retiring in 1955.
She was married on Feb. 7, 1912, to Paul J. Storck, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 31, 1920, she was married to Dr. J. G.Schoenenberger of Winterset. His death occurred in 1946.
Mrs. Schoenenberger was a member of the First United Methodist church of Winterset. She was active in the W.S.C.S. of that church, and was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Scott Community circle, the Metallic club and the Buffalo Gals.
Surviving are three sons, James Schoenenberger of Houston, Tex., Saul Schoenenberger of San Mateo, Calif., and Chester Schoenenberger of Hannah N. Dak.; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Axlund of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Fannie A. Chervinka of Iowa City, and Mrs. Fern Allison of Iowa City; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Nelle McClure of Winterset. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
