James Schoenenberger 61, Houston, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 17, after a short illness. Funeral services and burial were held Feb. 20 in Houston.

Mr. Schoenenberger was born March 17, 1924 in Winterset, the son of John Guy and Rella Schoenenberger.

He served in the Armed Forces during and following World War II. He was employed for a number of years by various oil companies.

He grew up in the Buffalo Center Community immediately south of Winterset and attended Winterset High School with the class of 1942.

Survivors include one son, James G Schoenenberger of Coalinga, Calif.; two brothers, Saul Schoenenberger of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Chester Scheonenberger of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; two sisters, Fannie Chervinka and Fern Allison, both of Iowa City; one half sister,Helen Axlund of Phoenix, Ariz.; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one half brother.
