George was the son of Samuel Trowbridge and Harriet Addie Evans Trowbridge. He was married to Dorothy C. Criddle on June 8, 1916 at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, Colorado. George went to Princeton and Georgetown Law school and graduated in 1908. George was prominent in business and social circles. He was assistant to the solicitor in the Department of Agriculture and was a law examiner for the U.S. Forest Service. George worked as an attorney for Southern California Edison for years and was a member of the Delta Chi Legal Fraternity. George and Dorothy had one daughter, Dorothy Gene Trowbridge Petzelt Marlow.
