On November 3, 1904, in Monroe, Michigan, Harry married Annarose Atkinson. Harry retired in 1954 after serving as a rural mail carrier for forty-five years, mostly in the Ballville area. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association and served as a committeeman in the national organization. He also served as treasurer of the County Association of Letter Carriers. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and had served as elder and deacon of the church. He was a member of the Sandusky County Historical Society and the Woodmen of the World. Harry had also been a schoolteacher and after retirement from the post office had served as a school crossing guard.
Harry and Annarose had a daughter: Rosalind Marguerite.
