However, after approximately 20 years, the President and his wife’s remains were moved to Spiegel Grove which is their former homestead and home of the first Presidential Library built in 1916. Among the other local notables buried at Oakwood are Maj. Gen. Ralph Buckland; 1912 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist Clarence Childs, and Russ Christy, founder of the Christy Knife Company. The Cemetery is on both sides of Oakwood Street in Fremont Ohio.
