The Herald, Piedmont, WV, Friday, 16 November 1906: "Mr. Lawrence Gillen, of Piedmont, departed this life at the Hoffman Hospital, Keyser, at half-past three o'clock Monday afternoon, 12 November 1906, after an illness of several weeks, aged 52 years. His remains were taken in charge by Undertaker J. F. Hoban, of this place and prepared for burial. The funeral services were conducted in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Charles Heath conducting the services, in an impressive manner. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. J. Tierney, John J. Casey, Robert Moxley, M. J. Fallon, R. H. Helferstay, J. E. Healy, J. V. Ross and William P. Kenny."

There is no known grave marker. The only known marker of a relative is that of his step-father, Michael Kearney. This suggests possible proximity, but not conclusively.
