Early Life: Dawna was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, September 30, 1934. She was the daughter of Eldon Denzil Brinley and Lillie Holm Brinley.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Dawna and her first husband, John A. Kirk, had three children: Ronald, Kim and Russel. Two other boys, Larry Scott and Randy*, died in infancy. Her husband, John, died in January 1961. She later married Harold Garnell "Gary" Jones of Brigham City, Utah, who had four children: Sidni, Ronda, Patti and Michael. Gary worked for Bell Aerospace and the family lived in a number of locations including Brigham City, Utah; Niagara Falls, New York; Incirlik, Turkey; and New Orleans, Louisiana. Gary died in New Orleans in 1987. Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Dawna lived with her brother's family in Provo, Utah, for a year before settling in Liberty, in 2007. Dawna Meline Brinley Jones passed away February 8, 2012, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden following a stroke. She was 77.
Survived By: Her brother, Doug Brinley; her children; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

*Dawna's published obituary was written to include her infant son's name, Randy (see source of obituary at Premier Funeral Services). One of her sons states: "I am Dawna's son and middle child, born in 1955. There was no sibling named Randy. Not sure where that came from but that child was stillborn and, thus, under Texas laws at the time, did not receive a name. Consequently, when I bought the headstone for his grave in 1978, the cemetery required that I put "Baby Boy" on it since there was no birth certificate with the name Randy. I would appreciate someone correcting this for my mom."
