Services Wednesday For Jessie M. Kirk
Jessie M. Kirk, 81, of 1799 Park Avenue and a former Coggon resident, died Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
She was born December 27, 1886, at Marion. On March 29, 1929, at Marion, she was married to Charles M. Kirk, who died December 13, 1964. Mrs. Kirk lived in coggon from 1945 to 1964, when she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anson Burlingame, in Marion. She was a member of the First Christian church of Coggon and the Coggon CWF.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anson Burlingame of Marion and Violet Larkin of Green Bay, Wisconsin; a stepson, Ben Kirk of Cedar Rapids; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Willard Sawyer of Center Point and Mrs. Rowland Zerba of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister Melissa Beebe of Central City, five brothers, Harry Waters of Central City, Merle Waters and Thomas Waters of Coggon, Chester Waters of Marion and Walter Waters of College Park, Maryland.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Murdoch chapel in Marion conducted by the Re v. Hugh Ghormley, pastor of the First Christian church of Coggon. Burial: Center Point cemetery.
