William Everett Grow was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 10, 1909. He was the son of Everett Francis Grow and Sarah Harriet Cordle Grow. His mother died in April of 1912. His father remarried in November of 1916 to Lala Pennington. His father Everett died in 1959. His step-mother Lala died in 1969.
William married Mona Mae Ferguson on January 21, 1929 in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV. They had three children; Alice Lee Grow, James Hunter Grow and Deloris Louise Grow. After his wife Mona's death in June 1991, he married Esther Leona Heinze on August 12, 1999. Esther was married and widowed by four other husbands before William married her. She died in April 2005. His daughter Alice Lee Grow Dauphiny died in April 1990. His son James Hunter Grow died in June 2004.
He died on January 26, 2012 at the age of 102 years, 4 months, & 16 days. He died in Lake Forest, Orange Co., California. He willed his body to a university for medical research so there was no burial.
He is survived by his daughter Deloris Louise Grow Boling, 6 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
