Most likely the son of Jathniel Peck; see p.42 of Ira Peck's 1868 Peck genealogy book. His widow Mary Bliss was appointed administrator of his estate 3/31/1737-8. They were married July 13, 1731 in Rehoboth, MA.
Perhaps he was called Joseph Jr because his grandfather was Joseph Peck 1623-1701 who is thought to be buried at the Newman Cemetery in East Providence.
