June 22, 1838. She married Gustav Nystrom October 8, 1859. She and
her husband and came to America in 1869 and stayed in Chicago for a
year, and came to Republic County in 1869. They lived on the Nystrom
farm 2 1/2 miles south of Scandia until about 1902 when they moved
into Scandia.
Mrs. Nystrom is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lars Hammer and
and Mrs. Ole Hammer, with whom she has made her home the past two
years; a daughter Hulda Hanson died about 10 years ago, survived by fivd
sons, Charles of Florida and John, Gus, Frank and Henry of Scandia.
Four children died in infancy There are 21 grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren living. The funeral was held Tuesday in Scandia and burial was
made in the Lutheran cemetery.
