She was a daughter of Gideon Johnson.
Gideon and his family lived one mile above the present Settles Bridge.
He had lived in Amelia County, VA. where he sold a 450 acre farm in 1764. His wife may have been Ursula Allen. Gideon died in 1807 leaving a family of ten children, one of whom was Elizabeth Johnson Wray.
