Mercy married Andrew Alexander Elliott Van Gorder. They had 4 children: Nancy Ida, Brises, Allrilla, and George Elliott.
On October 26, 1854 Alex and Mercy purchased 70.25 acres along the Slippery Rock Creek.

Mercy is the daughter of William and Elizabeth Wilson of Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania.
Her grandparents were Thomas Wilson and Hannah Elrod of Elizabeth Twp., Allegheny CO., Pa.

Thomas Wilson served as a Private enlisting September 4, 1782 in Captain Mills Company.
His family home at that time was Ginger Hill, Washington Co., Pa....source SAR
