A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Chris is a son of the late Michael Dennis and Blanche Thompson Kaney. He isan electrical design engineer with Applied Control Technology. Chris liked golf, and was a very patient and kind man who loved his wife and family very much.
Survivors, in addition to Katherine, his wife of 30 years, include two daughters, Ashley Kaney and Michelle Kaney Ortiz Cabezas; a stepson, J. Travis Ryan; and a granddtr, Riley Katherine Burdick, all of Aiken; four sisters, Angel (Jerry) Lynn, Graniteville, Lydia Kaney, North Augusta, Bernadette (Walt) Reiss, Placentia, CA, and Marilyn Mazza, Hermosa Beach, CA; and four brothers, Mark "Tank" Kaney, Aiken, Matt "Dillon" (Vivian) Kaney, Johnson City, TN, Patrick (Sandy) Kaney, Flowery Branch, GA and Gerald (Maggie) Kaney, Alexander City, AL & numberous nieces and nephews who loved him very much. In addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by two children, Christopher, Jr. and Katherine and two brothers, Michael and TK (Rack-o)Kaney and his parents Michael Dennis Kaney Jr (MD)and Mary Blanche Thompson Kaney. He really liked golf enjoying it as often as possible with Tank & Pat (bros), Gregory & Michael Moody (2 of his nephews)

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery.
