❦ Early Life: Carol Joy was born August 22, 1930, in Provo, Utah, daughter of George Carl Dattge and Euphema Janette "Janet" Underwood Croft Dattge. She was a member of the girls basketball team at Provo High School. She has five brothers: Albert George Dattge, LaVell Croft, Virgil Croft, Herbert Croft and Orville Croft; and four sisters: Bessie Smith, Ina Basselle, Jeanett Evans, Elliot Croft and May Gabbitas.
❦ Life's Work | Service | Interests: On December 9, 1947, she married Donald Bart Canfield; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donald passed away August 28, 1989. She attended art school and enjoyed oil painting. Carol also enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and attending the Springville Senior Center for quilting and ceramics. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack #58. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Carol Joy Dattge Canfield returned to our Heavenly Father November 7, 2022, at the age of 92.
❦ Survived By: Three sons and two daughters: Stephen (LaChelle) Canfield, Michael (Linda) Canfield, Ronald B. Canfield, Pamela (John) Eastman Goode and Karen (William T.) Jones; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
❦ Predeceased By: Her husband, parents, son-in-law, five grandchildren: Christopher, Joshua, Rashelle, Lacy and Andrew; and two great-grandchildren.
