Funeral services for Liaf. E. Klemetson, 88, were at the First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, on Thursday, Feb. 2nd, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lyndon West officiating and Steve Lunde, soloist, sang "Behold the Host" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Liaf Klemetson passed away Sunday morning at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Six grandsons were active pallbearers: Gerald Lunds, Bradley Lunde, Lyle Klemetson, Jr.,  Douglas Klemetson, Mark Hayes and David Hayes. Honorary pallbearers were Gustav Klemetson, Harland Larson, Kenneth Brogren, Arnold Hoseth, Raymond Buchette, George Johnson, Clarence Gunderson and Olaf Jorde.Liaf Einar Klemetson was born August 21, 1889 on a farm in Walworth Township. aa con of Erick and Marit Klemetson. He attended rural school and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was married to Josie Henrickson in 1915 and she passed away in 1925. Six children were born to this marriage. In 1929, he married Josephine Gunderson and they had four daughters. He had been on the Walworth Town Board, School Board and Becker County Fair Board.He is survived by his wife, Josephine and three sons and six daughters: Clinton, Ulen; Harold, Panorama City, Calif; Raymond, Claremont, Calif.; Mrs. Sid (Laverne) Holmen, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Milton (Eldora) Swenson, Concord Calif.; Mrs. Harold (Lorraine) Lunde, Lake Park; Mrs. Charles (Eileen) Peterson; Mrs. Phil (Janice) Hayes, White Bear Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Ted (Marlyce) Hanson. International Falls, Minn.; 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and one brother, Enock, resident of the Viking Nursing Home at Ulen. He was preceded in death by one son, Lyle, and one great-grandson, and three sisters. He will be buried in the spring at Ulen. The West-Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lake was in charge of arrangements.

They had 4 additional children: Lorraine, Eileen, Janice and Marlys.
