Marlys Louise Hanson, 71, of International Falls, Minn., died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011. at Good Samaritan Society-International Falls.
Marlys was born May 9, 1940, in Ulen, Minn.
She married Ted Hanson on June 4, 1965.
Marlys worked at the Days Inn for over 20 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
One of her favorite past times was having coffee with her friends. Many local establishments remember her and her friends' numerous visits.
She adored watching her grandchildren as they have grown, and loved hearing about their school and extracurricular activities.
Marlys also liked to travel around the country with her late husband, and spend time at her sister's in Lake Park, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hanson; parents, Liaf and Josie Klemetson; brothers, Clinton and Lyle Klemetson; and sister, Eileen Peterson.
Marlys is survived by her sons, Steve (Wendy) Hanson of International Falls and Troy (Angie) Hanson of Elk River, Minn.; five grandchildren, Regan, Reid, Garrett, Carter and Ella; brothers, Harold (Dottie) Klemetson of Valencia, Calif., and Raymond Miller of Freemont, Calif.; sisters, Lorraine (Harold) of Lake Park, Minn., Janice (Phil) of Austin, Texas, Laverne of Louisville, Colo., and Eldora (Milton) of Martinez, Calif.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, International Falls.
Interment will be at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials in her memory may be sent to the Good Samaritan Society-International Falls or the Zion Lutheran Church.
