A son of Philip & Margaret Ellenberger.
He died at his home in North Freedom of the Grip & Erysipelas Fever.
Aged 62 years, 2 months & 13 days.

He was united in marriage in 1861 to Barbara Ann Brown,of Panic,Pa. Five sons and seven daughters were given them,four of whom preceded the father to the eternal land.
He is survived by his aged wife,four sons and four daughters, as follows:
~ Mrs. ida Pifer,of Reynoldsville;
~ Thomas Ellenberger of Cool Spring;
~ Mrs. Emma Dickey of Reynoldsville;
~ Charles Ellenberger of Echo;
~ Philip Ellenberger;
~ Daniel Ellenberger;
~ Nora Ellenberger;
~ Lucille Ellenberger,all of North Freedom.
