Julia Hage Joseph passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2004. She was born in Donaldsville, Louisiana, one of nine children. Julia graduated from Manor High School. She had resided in Austin since 1929 when her parents, A.K. and Mary Kouri Hage, relocated the family and mercantile business to Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles K. Hage, and sisters Ruby Daywood, Mary Hage and Isabel Jabour. She is survived by her sisters Josephine Haik, Bernice Hage, Esther Ganem and husband Bill, Peggy Samon and husband Jimmy, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Julia married Ernest George Joseph. They owned the Joseph’s Men Shop for many years. They had two children, Janelle Joseph Glynn and Ernest George Joseph, Jr. Janelle married Jerry Glynn and they have two children, Sherri Nolan and her husband Chuck Nolan and Cindy King. They have five grandchildren: Carson King, Austin King, Grace King, Julia Nolan and Monica Nolan. Ernest Jr. married Ann and they have two children, Ernest III and Sallie. Ernest Jr. died last year.

There will be a viewing of the body from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at St. Austin Catholic Church located at 29th and Guadalupe. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH-35. Pallbearers will be Joe Daywood, Bill Ganem, Phillip Joseph and Sammie Joseph. Honorary pallbearers are Ernest Joseph, III and Cater Joseph. Special thanks to Mark Schiffgens, a long time friend of the family, to Arden Court and to Heartland Health Care for their loving care. The family requests no flowers.
