Ms. Dorothy "Dot" Blitch Singer, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 8, 2012, after a long illness with COPD.

She was born in Trenton in 1927. She loved swimming at Hart Springs with her family. She also enjoyed playing basketball in high school. She was an avid Seminole fan. She worked with the Florida Department of Education and Banking and Finance for 35 years where she earned several awards. There was nothing in her life she loved more than her family.

She is preceeded in death by her parents, Wallace and Esther Blitch, a sister, Lois Earle, and a brother, Wendall Blitch.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Laurie S. (Bob) Hunter, Ron E. Singer, and Ronna S. Burley; her siblings, Peggy B. Hartsfield, Evelyn B. Green and Ernest Blitch; her only grandson, Dustin M. Burley; many nieces and nephews, and her ex-husband, Larry Singer.

Her family is grateful to her daughter, Laurie Hunter, and sister, Peggy Hartsfield, for dedicating many years of their lives to the care of Dot.

Her family would also like to extend their gratitude to Big Bend Hospice, both hospitals and rehabs.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Capital City Christian Church in Tallahassee. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the Trenton Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308.

The arrangements have been placed under the care of Bevis Funeral Home in Tallahassee.
