Jarvis Delmer Keen, age 78 of Del City, passed away Thursday, September 12, 1985, in an Oklahoma City hospital. Funeral services will be held at the Sunnylane United Methodist Church, Saturday, September 14, 1985, at 10 a.m., with burial in Sunny Lane Cemetery. Directed by Bill Eisenhour Southeast Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Sunnylane United Methodist Church or the Oklahoma Heart Association.
Mr. Keen was born September 12, 1907, in Hegira, Kentucky. He moved to Del City in 1948, and helped write the original Del City Charter. He had served Del City for 20 years as a volunteer fireman. He was also a charter member of the Del City Lions' Club, where he served many hours as a volunteer during the 4th of July holiday, and was the chairman of the Bell Ringers during the Christmas holiday. He was a charter member of the Sunnylane United Methodist Church. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1967, after 25 years as a firefighter.
Mr. Keen is survived by his wife, Etta of the home; a son, Richard Jarvis Keen of Del City; two daughters, Barbara Wharton of Edmond, and Frances Oliver of Del City; three brothers; one sister; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
