Mary Margaret Knelanger "Granny" was the only daughter of Herman Edelhardt Knelanger and Alwilda Burke Thomas. In 1943, she married James Horne and together they had four children. In the mid 1950's the family moved from Indiana to California.

Mary always spoke her mind and told it as it was; no glossing over the truth.

She was preceded in death by all of her siblings.
