MURPHYSBORO -- Lee Blake, 75, died at 4:20pm on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, in Murphysboro.
Lee was born April 25, 1936, in Stonefort, a son to the late Lester W. and Evelyn (Kennedy) Blake.
He was united in marriage to Nita Tweedy on June 27, 1959, in Murphysboro. Nita survives of Murphysboro.
Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a retired manager and area supervisor for P.N. Hirsch Co. and Stein-Mart Co. He was a member of American Legion Paul Stout Post 127, Murphysboro Elks BPOE 572 and VFW Post 7190, all of Murphysboro. H e was a member of the military honors detail from American Legion Post 127 and VFW Post 7190.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Burial will be in Murdale Gardens of Memory with military rites by American Legion Post 127, VFW Post 7190, VFW Post 2605 in Carbondale and Jackson County DAV Chapter 69. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Illinois Elks Children's Care Corp. and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Nita Blake of Murphysboro; one daughter, Robin Blake Falkenberg of Murphysboro; two sons and one daugh-ter-in-law, Tom and Vanessa Blake of Indianapolis and Richard Blake of Murphysboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Beverly Blake of Summerfield, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kelsey Blake, Kaitlyn Blake, Blake Egbert, Matthew Blake, Ryan Blake and Josh Falkenberg; two stepgrandchildren, Lauren Vires and Courtney Vires; three sisters-in-law, Pat Roberts, Norma Jean (Johnny) Dickerson and Julia Moore; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Jean) Tweedy and John Tweedy and his special friend, Carole Wexsten; and numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one daughter, Kelly Jo Blake in 1979; one son, Randal Joseph Blake in 2004; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Helen Tweedy; and one brother-in-law; Bud Roberts.
