EDWIN D BLAKEMORE DIES AT 79

MARTINEZ - Edwin D. Blakemore, 79, prominent in Eastbay Masonic circles for many years and a retired Pacific Gas & Electric Co. employe, died yesterday in a local hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Blakemore was a native of Texas and resided here 50 years. An electrician 32 years with PG&E, he was a past president and longtime member of the Mountain View Improvement Association here and a past Master of Martinez Masonic Lodge No. 41. He also was a member of the Oakland Scottish Rite Bodies, Aahmes Temple of the Shrine at Oakland and Los Cerritos Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Martinez.

Surviving are his wife, Birdella of Martinez, and two sons, Jack R. Blakemore, Antioch, and Martin Blakemore, Santa Cruz. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Clovis Wygal, Concord; brother, William Blakemore, San Jose; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
