WILLIAM ASBURY BLAKEMORE DIES AT HUNTINGTON BEACH
William Asbury Blakemore, for many years a resident of Covina, died at the home of his son, William A. Blakemore, Jr., at Huntington Beach, at 1:30 p.m., June 30th. Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Custer & Christiansen's parlors, Rev. S. J. McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale.
Deceased was born in Lee county, Virginia, in 1847. He went in early life to Texas, where he was married to Martha Ida Simmons in Cook county. Twenty years ago the family came to California, locating in Covina, where they lived until the past three years, when Mr. Blakemore was enfeebled by a paralytic stroke.
Mr. Blakemore is survived by his widow, seven children, thirty-two grandchildren and two great-grand-children. The children are: William A. Blakemore, Jr., of Huntington Beach, E. B. Blakemore of Baldwin Park, E. D. Blakemore of Martinez, Calif., Mrs. Mary Kimberlin of Sebastopol, Calif., Mrs. Clovis Wygal of Healdsburg, Calif., Mrs. Birdie McKinney of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Ennis Flowers of Lone Oak, Texas.
