Pearl A. Miller, 93, of Old Reading Road, Catawissa, died Saturday morning May 21, 2005, at Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Bloomsburg, where she had resided for the past three weeks.

Born Jun 8, 1911, in Main Township, Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth Nuss Hawk.

Pearl was a homemaker all her life but as a young woman, she worked for the former Mainville Telephone Co. ad a telephone operator.

She was a member of Emanuel Reformed Church, Bloomsburg, and also attended the Kulp United Methodist Sunday school. She was a member of the former Woman's Lodge POA.

Pearl enjoyed crocheting, canning and baking. She baked bread until just a couple years ago.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence R. Miller, who died in 1988. They had been married for 48 years. She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Myrtle Horrox and Edna Fisher. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by a son, Larry T. Miller and his wife Abbie, with whom she had made her home until just recently; a daughter, Charlene Shoup and her husband Ralph, both of rural Catawissa; three grandchildren; Clarissa Geary and her husband Eric, of Ringtown; Scarlet Llewellyn of rural Catawissa; and Anthony Zomboni, of Shamokin; and two great-grandsons; Mason and Kelin Geary of Ringtown.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 24, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. from Emanuel Reformed Church, Main Township, with the Rev. Donald Pellman, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Reformed Church Cemetery. Friends will be received this evening, May 23, from 6 to 8 at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, and Tuesday afternoon May 24, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
