Services for Mrs V V Harris Sr, 74, of 323 NW 16, who died Monday, tentatively have been set for 2pm Wednesday in St Luke's Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum under direction of Hahn Cook Funeral Home.
She was the wife of the late V V Harris, long a key figure in business and civic life of Oklahoma City. Mrs Harris had lived here more than a half century.
Mrs Harris was a member of the Methodist Church and Oklahoma City Symphony Society's Board of Directors. She was a founder and patron of Planned Parenthood Inc and a patron of Oklahoma Art Center.
The 42-bell clarion of St Luke's Methodist Church, put up about four years ago, was cast in the memory of the late Mr Harris.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Robert F Long of 1609 Elmhurst; 2 sons, William J Harris, 801 NW 41 and V V Harris Jr, 1703 Elmhurst; a sister, Mrs Tom Guthrie of Springfield TN; and 2 brothers, Thomas and J H Hefley, both of Ardmore OK.
The family requests those so desiring make memorial contributions to the Memorial Fund of Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra.
