He was a carpenter, farmer, and Civil War Veteran: Company B, 146th Infantry; res 1860 in LaPorte County Indiana--his given name listed as "Winarn" on that US Census; res 1870 through 1900 in West Twp (Marshall Co) Indiana. Susette and Maynard had nine children:
