Second Victim of Stove Explosion Succumbs at Hospital.

Death claimed a second victim of the stove explosion at Huffy's Grove when Miss Leona Katherine redding, aged 19, of south of Yeoman, passed away Wednesday evening about 7 o'clock at the Home hospital in Lafayette. From the time she suffered the burns her condition was regarded as very critical. Clarence M. Reigle, who also figured in the accident, died 11 hours after the accident..

Miss Redding suffered burns all over her body, but her face escaped except for a small spot on her lip. The burns were most severe from her waist down. Every medical aid was given to save her life..

Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Redding, were at the hospital when she succumbed. Miss Redding was conscious up to the time of her death, but it is doubtful whether she realized the extent of her injuries, for several times yesterday she mentioned to her parents that she would like to be taked home. She passed away without knowing that her friend, Mr. Reigle, had died and the funeral was held yesterday..

The unfortunate girl had a host of friends whom she attracted by her spendid personality. For years she was employed at the Monticello Thread Mills and was regarded as one of the most faithful employees of the concern. She had spent the past two months at her country home..

Miss Redding was born in White County on May 22, 1902 and with her parents moved to the Carroll County farm 22 years ago. Surviving are her parents, and four sisters, Mrs. Gladys Anderson, Nelesvile, Wis; Mrs. Frona Austin and Mrs. Rose Davis of south of Yeoman and Miss Hattie Redding at home..

Funeral servies will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Yeoman Methodist Church with the Rev. Oren McColgin officiating. Burial will be made in Riverview cemetery. .
