Dorothy Vivian (Lancaster) Butkovich, 88, of Hermitage, TN, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, born July 9, 1922; passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010.
She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Lancaster; sister, Verna Lancaster; brother, Bernard Lancaster.
Vivian is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, John Frank Butkovich; daughter, Cheryl (Vance) Marquis; grandson, Alan (Julia) Marquis; great-granddaughter, Lily Marquis; sisters, Vera (Albert) Churcher, Betty Underhill; brothers, Carl Lancaster, Edd (Nancy) Lancaster; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Vivian graduated from Hickman County High School in 1941 and David Lipscomb College in 1943 with an Associate Degree. She was payroll clerk at Neuhoff Packing Company for 30 years until closing of the plant in 1977. She then went to work at IKG Industries in a similar position where she worked until her retirement in 1997 at age 75.
She was a member of the Donelson Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Hermitage Funeral Home, with Jim Parnell officiating. Private Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family members served as Pallbearers.
Memorial contributions could be made to Donelson Church of Christ Building Fund, Nashville, TN.
Visitation was held Friday, November 12, 2010, 5:00-8:00 PM, and Saturday, November 13, 2010, 10:00-11:00 AM, at Hermitage Funeral Home, Old Hickory, TN.
