Medicine Lodge- Alta Corbin, 90, died Friday, December 30, 2011 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She was born May 25, 1921 in Iuka, KS, the daughter of W.E. "Bill" and Verna (Boughner) Keller. A longtime resident of Medicine Lodge, she painted and wallpapered many houses in the Isabel and Medicine Lodge areas, and had worked as an Aide at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital for 22 years. She was a member of First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge, both at Isabel, KS. On May 25, 1941 she married Kenneth L. Corbin at Medicine Lodge. He died Feb. 17, 1977. She is survived by a son Jerry (Iola) Corbin, Pratt, KS; a daughter Anita Poland and her husband Richard, Isabel, KS; two brothers, Basil Keller, Pratt, KS; Bill Keller, Medicine Lodge, KS; two sisters, June Gilpin, Pratt, KS; Irene Keeler, Hutchinson, KS; 5 Grandchildren, Brandon (Jan) Poland, Heather (Paul) Smith, Erin (Kent) Simpson, Connie (Mike) McCall, and Carla (Shawn) Burgardt and 14 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Jim and Larry Wilton Keller, and a sister Cleo D'Amato.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Inurnment will be in Isabel Cemetery, Isabel, KS, at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday.
