The names of 17 soldiers have been added to the list of Indianapolis casualties. Reports yesterday from Saipan, Italy, France and Romania included the names of four soldiers killed, two missing in France and 11 wounded.
Among the dead:
Private Raymond Archer Jr, 20 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Archer Sr, 810 South Rybolt Avenue.
Private Archer, an infantryman, was killed in action on July 13 in France, according to a telegram received from the War Department yesterday.
He entered the army in October 1943, and was sent overseas in April. He was employed by the Inland Container Corporation before entering military service. He attended Ben Davis High School in 1938-9 and was on the school baseball and basketball teams and was a member of Fleming Gardens Christian Church.
A brother, Pharmacist's Mate First Class Donald Archer is stationed in the Pacific. Other survivors are two sisters Helen Archer and Maxine Archer and five other brothers, Robert Archer, Howard Archer, James Archer, Harold Archer and Joe Archer, all of Indianapolis."

Not listed in Plainfield Library obituary records. Tom Cress, sexton of Amo Cemetery signed approval for his headstone on June 5, 1948.
