Most of Mr. Wasson's life was lived in and around Germany Valley, near Shirleysburg, but for the past eleven years has been a resident of Huntingdon.
On November 6, 1877, he was united in marriage to Hannah Susan Brandt, who survives him. Mr. Wasson was a life member of the Methodist Church, and has a large group of friends who will miss him. He was known as "Daddy Wasson" and was greatly loved by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his widow, Hannah Susan Wasson, and the following sisters, Mrs. Margaret O'Neil, of Huntingdon County, Mrs. Susan Schrepple, of Schuylkill County, Mrs. Elizabeth Richardson and Mrs. Jennie Grove, both of Fulton County, and the following children, Ira D. Wasson, of Orbisonia, Mrs. Mae Bard, of Henderson township, Mrs. Bertha Gharet, of North Baltimore, Ohio, Edgar Wasson, of Williamsburg, Pa., John Clyde Wasson, of Gilbertsville, Pa., Archie Brandt Wasson, of Akron Ohio, Harry Wasson, of McConnellstown, Mrs. Myrtle Hood, of Akron, Ohio, Rolla Wasson of Nyack, N.Y., and Cecil Wasson, of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Ella Peterson, deceased. He is also survived by forty-seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from his late home, on Fifth Street, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., services will be conducted by Rev. O. B. Poulson of the Fifteenth Street Methodist Church, and interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Harry Brown & Son, undertakers.
