Archie B. Wasson of 415 Reed Avenue, Akron, Ohio, died at the Crile Veterans' Hospital on Thursday, August 11, 1949, following an extended illness.

Mr. Wasson was born near Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County, a son of the late John and Susan (Brandt) Wasson. He was aged 60 years at the time of death and was one of a family of eleven children.

He moved to Akron, Ohio, thirty-two years ago and became an employee of the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company of that city. He was a member of the Locust Street Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Akron.

He was a veteran of World War I and belonged to the Disabled American Veterans' Association.

Mr. Wasson was married to Florence Kephart of Orbisonia who survives with the following children: Mrs. Mildred Lorscheider of Springfield, Ill.; Imogene, Paul and Carl Wasson at home; at Raymond Wasson, in the U.S. Army. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Edward and Ira Wasson of Pennsylvania, Harry Wasson of Akron, O.; Rolla Wasson of New Jersey; Cecil Wasson of Lorain O.; Mrs. Myrtle Hood of Akron, O.; and Mrs. Mae Bard of Huntingdon. One brother and two sisters died some years ago; Clyde Wasson (Boyertown, Pa.), Bertha Gharet (Portage, Ohio), and Mrs. Ella Peterson (Shirleysburg).

Funeral services were held at the Locust Street Church in Akron, with the Rev. Linton D. Hill officiating and burial took place in Greenlawn cemetery at that place.
