GIRARD —


Lillian E. Vance Bray, 87, formerly of the Walnut and Girard areas, died at 3:15 p.m., Sunday, December 25, 2011 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Girard.

She was born May 18, 1924 in Arkansas, a daughter of Richard Pink and Arizona (Mitchell) House.

She worked in rest homes at Girard and St. Paul as a cook at various restaurants in the area.

She married Ledford Woodard and they divorced. She married Brian Vance and Lee Bray and they both preceded her in death.

Survivors are sons Charles Woodard and wife Sue and Don Woodard and wife Velma, all of Bolivar, Tennessee and a daughter Kathy Vance of Pittsburg; 22 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons Richard and Bobby Vance, a daughter, Helen Hill, several grandchildren and 10 siblings.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Glenwood Cemetery at Walnut, Kansas.

Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard.
