Edward J. Hildman of Westby, 84, died Tuesday night, Oct. 24, at the Hancock Memorial Hospital in Britt. Mr. Hildman managed the Wesley Cooperative Elevator for many years prior to his retirement in 1953.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Wesley with Father John Brennan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Blake Funeral Home of Weslely in charge of the arrangements.
Six grandsons were the pallbearers.
Mr. Hildman was born June 19, 1888 at West Brooklyn, Ill., son of Mathias and Catherine Halmier Hildman. He was married to Elizabeth Wirth at Gilbert, Ia. On Oct. 3, 1911. Mrs. Hildman died in 1964.
He is survived by five children; Verna, Mrs. Robert Kain, Algona; Leona, Mrs. Herman Lyon of St. Paul, MInn.; Lucille, Mrs. Delmar Pammerening, Lovelock, Nev.; Mathias, Lakewood, Calif. and Lawrence of Orange, Calif. There are 16 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
