Born in Lancaster County on September 29, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ada White Bender. She was retired from the Wrapping Department at Hershey Foods Corporation and was a former employee for the Annville Shoulder Strap Factory.
Betz attended Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Annville since 1957 and was a friend of the Campbelltown United Methodist Church Congregation where she enjoyed making crafts for the church bazaar with the "Bazaar Bunch." In her earlier years, she worked on the family dairy farm and developed a love for cows and became an avid cow collector. One of her greatest joys was babysitting her great grandson and also enjoyed bowling, quilting, gardening, walking, and the outdoors.
Surviving are a son Larry D. husband of Jeanne Bender of Lebanon, a daughter Lisa M. Kauffman with whom she lived, brothers John, Jim, Roy, Ralph, and Lloyd Bender, a sister Rhoda Gerlach, three grandchildren, Michael Bender, Michelle wife of Alfred Smith, and Jennifer wife of Kevin Conkle, three great grandchildren Cameron Conkle, and Jade and A.J. Smith. She was preceded in death by brothers Donald and Richard "Dick" Bender and a sister Edna Beston.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be in Grand View Memorial Park. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
