Joseph Lee 'Joe' Jenkins, 73 of Luray died on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1938, in Luray and was a son of the late Howard Clarence and Esta Mae Campbell Jenkins.

On May 25, 1963, he married the former Charlotte D. Thomas, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Joseph Lee Jenkins Jr. of Lebanon Church; two daughters, Angela Jenkins of Luray, and Bonnie Sue Shenk of Stanley; four brothers, Elwood D. Jenkins of Sperryville, Glenn L. Jenkins of Stanley, Howard J. Jenkins of Luray and Melvin E. Jenkins of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Edith E. Lillard of Luray and Virginia Jenkins Richards Drummond of Luray; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert William 'Tinker', George 'Waddle', Harold 'Pete' Lynwood Walter and Virgil 'Buddy' Jenkins.

Burial in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.
