Marshall Steele, 80, was found dead in his home at 223 North Center St. Thursday afternoon, at 3:15. He was born in March 1884 in Laurel, Ky. He married Elizabeth Gambel. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Taylor, Mich.; two sons, Howard, Decatur; Luther, address unknown; one sister, seven grandchildren, and four great-grand-children. One son preceded him in death. He is a retired car-man for the Illinois Central Railroad. His funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Herington-Calvert Funeral Home with the Rev. Winston Zastrow officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will start after 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Coroner Clyde Helm will conduct an inquiry.
