Henry Edward Foster was born January 11, 1903 in Downing, Mo. He spent most of his boyhood in Humeston, Iowa, however, graduating from the highschool there. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Iowa State Teachers College and also met his wife there.
He received his Masters degree from the State University of Iowa and also took graduate work attending Iowa State College. Following his graduation from college he served for two years as Superintendent of Schools at Viola township.
From there he went to Vernon Township school near Renwick and served as superintendent ther for six years. From Renwick he went to Nora Springs where he was superintendent for 10 years. Because of his health he was advised to leave the school administration business and at this time he and Mrs. Foster purchased the food market here.
During his teaching years he was extremely active in Boy Scout work for which he received national recognition. Boy Scout headquarters heard of his death recently and wrote Mrs. Foster a letter of sympathy.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Foster of Humeston, his wife, son James, who is a junior student in Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State College and two sisters.
One sister preceded him in death last November. His own death came on his fiftieth birthday.

Henry Foster of Eagle Grove Died Feb. 11
Henry Foster. 50, of Eagle Grove passed away Wednesday night, Feb. 11, at a Fort Dodge hospital following an illness of one week. He is survived by his wife and one son James. Mrs. Foster is the former Metta Tanck of Renwick.
Mr. Foster operated a grocery store in Eagle Grove at the time of his death. He was formerly a public instructor.
Several relatives and friends from here attended the funeral services which were held Saturday afternoon at Eagle Grove. Internment was at Goldfield,
