Blanche Foster,, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Oct. 27, 1995 at the Mapleleaf Healthcare Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Born Sept. 5, 1901 in Downing, Mo., she was the daughter of Fred Foster and Adah Slavin Foster. On May 12, 1923, in Chicago, she married Leslie David Foster, who preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1988.
She was a school teacher in Wayne County, Iowa, and a clerk at the former Spurgeon store in Mt. Pleasant. She also attended the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Jean Foster of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Marjorie Stanley of Humeston, Iowa, several nieces and newphews, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Leslie David, Jr.; a brother, Henry Foster; a grandson, Steve Foster; and her sister, Mary Taylor.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Myers officiating. Interment will be at the Humeston Cemetery in Humeston, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Humeston Public Library.
