Funeral services were held at Eagle Grove Thursday afternoon, December 23, for Mrs. Henry Foster, 51, prominent Eagle Grove business woman, who passed away Tuesday evening at the home of her sister, Lora Peer.
The services were held at 2 o'clock in the Methodist church, Eagle Grove, with the Rev. Roy Cox officiating. Burial was at the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her son, James, a veterinarian, and his wife of Eagle Grove, three sisters, Mrs. Peer, Mrs. R. E McGowan and Mrs. W.H. Long, all of Renwick.
Mr. Foster passed away February 11, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Calla Tanck.
The Fosters at one time lived at Vernon Consolidated school where Mr. Foster was superintendent.
They moved to Eagle Grove from Nora Springs, where Mr. Foster had been superintendent of school.
The Fosters purchased the Schoonover grocery in 1945. Mrs. Foster operated it until her illness in the summer of 1954 at which time she sold the store to Ralph Bremer. She was a member of the Methodist church, The Order of Eastern Start, the Equality Club, the Cecilian Music Club, and several other organizations.
She will be greatly missed by her family as well as the community in which she lived.

Former Resident of Nora Springs Dies at Renwick
Nora Springs – Word reached here Wednesday morning of the death of Mrs. Henry (Meta) Foster, 51, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lora Peer, at Renwick Tuesday evening. Mrs. Foster had undergone surgery last July.
Funeral services were to be held Thursday at Eagle Grove where the Fosters operated the Foster Food Market.
She is surived by one son, Jim, a veterinary, at Eagle Grove. Mr. Foster died Feb. 11, 1953.
The Fosters lived in Nora Springs for 10 years, during which time Mr. Foster was superintendent of local schools. They left here in June, 1955, moving to Eagle Grove. During her residence here, she was a member of the Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Harmony Federated Club, having been a leader in all of those organizations.
Among the casket bearers at the funeral will be W. H. Schnedler of Nora Springs and O. L. Hansen of Des Moines
