Mrs. Mary Henderson, one of the pioneers of this county, widow of Thos. Henderson, died at the home of her son, Isaac Henderson, near Hopewell, on Thursday of last week, about 1 o’clock p.m., aged ninety-one years. Mrs. Henderson was born in Kentucky and moved to this county fifty-six years ago. She unified with the Hopewell Presbyterian church when it was organized and was one of its faithful members until her death. Her death takes away the last charter member of that church. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a noble, Christian woman. The funeral took place Saturday at 10 o’clock a.m. from the residence of her son; Rev. E. I. Davies conducting the services. Eight children of Mr. and Mrs. Henderson survive the parents.
