Martha first married Abraham Voris Dec. 28, 1857, in Johnson County, Indiana. After his death, she married Stephen Vanarsdal on December 14, 1899. Stephen died in Kokomo, Indiana and is buried with his first wife (who happens to be Abraham's sister).

The Tipton Daily Tribune (Tipton, Indiana) 31 Jan 1913, Fri Page 1

Nrs, Martha Voris Vanarsdal, of Kokomo, died Thursday evening at 9:30 o'clock at the home of her son, James Voris, north of Nevada, aged 72 years.

Mrs. Vanarsdal came to the home of her son, a few weeks ago, and was taken sick with bronchial pneumonia and she was confined to her bed eighteen days, her condition growing gradually worse until death came. She was born, March 11, 1840, in Johnson county, Indiana, her maiden name being Henderson. She was married to Abrahan Voris in that county, and his death took place about thirty years ago. Of this union there are five children surviving, James Voris of Nevada, William Voris of Windfall, Edward Voris and Robert Voris of Alvin, Texas, and Mrs. Mary Smith of Windfall.

Her second marriage was to Stephen Vanarsdal, who survives her. They have been residents of Kokomo thirteen years, their home previous to that time being in Tipton county in the vicinity of Nevada. Two brothers and one sister, all living in Johnson county survive her with a number of grandchildren and other relatives. Mrs. Vanarsdal had for many years been a member of the Presbyterian church, her membership being with the Hopewell church between Nevada and Windfall. The funeral services will be held at this church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
